3.This is actually a fantastic question. As I’m usually only around other art nerds, I’m not usually asked this question, so I’m sorry if my answer isn’t as polished as it ought to be… I’ve always liked drawing. It wasn’t something I thought about, I just did. When I was seven, a family friend came to visit, I was at the table drawing and she leaned over and asked me, “Iain, do you wan’t to be an artist when you grow up?” I paused, set down my pen and looked her straight in the eye. “I already AM and artist” I said point blank.
In hindsight, I was a total baller asshat, but I actually think it’s a good point. You don’t have to wait until you take a class to be an artist. If you really dig art and you want to do it, don’t wait. Classes definitely help, but hell… just start drawing.
